Hi,

I am LPR for about 2 years now. I got my LPR through asylum.

If I needed to travel to countries that are not I I filed of fear to return to, do I still need a travel document?

If not, what should I need or do before I travel aboard?

thank you so much!

:);):)

sincerely,
ifrog

Prepare to answer why you renewed your passport during the citizenship interview. The IO that interviewed me clearly stated that ' Asylee renewing passport is considered as asking protection from the COP government'. I have to renew because of a valid business reasons and I have to provide all that documentation. The overall experience went really well but if the IO wanted to complicate things, he could have done it so. Just to give you a heads up.

Freedom_for_all, I don't think ifrog asked if he could renew his passport.

But anyways, while we're at it, do you think we will be ok to use passports? Please note that I have a valid RTD too but I don't wanna obtain a visa to travel to a country where I could travel for free based on my nationality.

If you are already LPR, you still need to obtain travel document to travel. Some countries don't recognize travel document. It is always good to travel using USA travel document because you are under the protection of the US goverment if something happens to you.

It depends on your nationality.

So if you are using your NP, look up visa requirements based on where you are from
If you hold RTD or RP now, look up visa requirements for "stateless travel document".
