Please help: Getting H-4 Visa

Hi guys and gals,

My friend(He), who is an indian citizen is getting married in Jan 2002 in india to a Malaysian Citizen(she). She has roots in india but her passport is Malaysian. Now the question is: Could she go to US Embassy in INDIA to get her H-4 Visa(Based on his residence in INDIA)? OR should she go to USEmbassy in Malaysia to get her H-4?

Any info. is appreciated.

I think she could go to indian consulate because the marraige certificate the main document is still Indian.

You can get married in the north pole but to get the Visa stamped in the passport the best place is your home country. Find out whether US consulates in India accept third nationals\' visa applications. You can also find out from the US consulate in Malaysia what will be the best set of equivalent documents required.

Thanks much for the info INS_WAITER. one followup question i have is whether she needs to pay $75.00 (Indian reciprocity fee) or $9.00 (Malaysian reciprocity fee), Assuming she goes for H4 visa at chennai consulate.
