My case was transfered to atlanta local office on sept 2nd, based on the receipt from nebraska that I received.
I did RFI, BIO and FP, and just waiting for final approval (could be interview..)

I did infopass on nov 14th 2005:
Atlanta local office did not received my case ( I receveid a transfer case receipt in the beginning of september from nebraska, (this is already more than 2 1/2 months), as the lady explained to me.
the lady also hand out a form to fill in.
I had to fill the form (and The lady make a copy of my transfer case receipt from nebraska) requesting I-485 query to let local office to track down.
at the end of conversation, the lady mentioned : the local office will decide to give me an interview or not. after receiving my case

Please advises me:

Guys, please some inputs...I need information from you
how long I have to wait to do infopass again?
I thinking to do infopass in incoming 2 weeks? how about that..
try to talk with immigration office.
please help..

Thanks

well seems like your fate is in the hands of Atlanta office now. This is another quagmire scenario where you are at their mercy. It would depend on their case load and how fast this local office does things. But there isn't much you do at this point, I guess.

My case has been transferred to a local office in Philadelphia the end of September and I haven't heard back from that office. I scheduled infopass appoinment for tomorrow. I'm interested to see what they will have to say.

( as my experience.)

Here is what I would do:
1. Call the 800 # and ask to speak with an officer.
2. Make another InfoPass appt. (do not under estimate the power of the InfoPass, that's how I got my case to move). Do so every 2 weeks until they receive your file.

Once your case gets transferred to a local office, it's almost 100% of the time that you will be interviewd, but relax, it's just a formality.

BTW, Atlanta office is a lowsy one, and was ran by a bunch of incompetent and rude A*H's They had lost my original asylum file back in 1991. I had to move out of state in order to get my case moving, and was not interviewd until 1997

Good Luck!

It's not a good idea to chane your address at this point, as this would put you in the back of the list at the new location (each location has it's own time line). BTW, what is the processing timeline for Atlanta now? Is it past the date on wich your case was transferd there?

Do the InfoPass and perhaps speak with a different officer. Ask if you can speak with the duty officer as he/she is the one that interviews people and makes decisions. There might be a chance that your file has already been receievd by the Atlanta office. If you get the same answer next time, or you do not get to see the dut officer, then write a letter to Nebraska and cc the local office (make sure to address the letter to the duty officer).

Thanks again.
yes, the atlanta processing date is june 1th 2004,
my application date is aprtil 9th 2001.

I agree with your suggestion.

for sending the letter to nebraska, do I just follow the instruction from uscis site?.
I'm not really clear with CC. that means , I send the same letter (for nebraska ) to atlanta uscis?
please advise me

I appreciate your help.

First try to speak w/the duty officer at the local office.

As for the letter you can just write them an inquiry about the status of your file, and include your A#, LIN#,etc. And yes, you would send the same letter-CC(carbon copy) to the local office.

Keep us posted.

Good luck!

bringslite,

I did infopass on friday . nov 25, after thanksgiving

the update of my transferred case to atlanta local office:
1) local office received my case/(could be on review) on oct 14th (NSC dates is sept 1st, go figures. this information has contradiction with the previous infopass- local didn't receive my case yet)
2) no on-duty officer, :(, the lady was looking for a duty officer.
3) my newest biometrics (sept 12th) is not on the local database, (could be delay? no idea).
4) there is an interview for me, not mention the time (the information, I received from the lady, no duty officer on that friday.....holiday for them :().

next move.....
I will make another infopass in two weeks, to speak with duty officer

at least, my case is on Atlanta Local office now, that's make me relieved for a while.

I will keep posting ,the saga continues :)

thanks guys.

she said to come back in 30 days if do not received the mail.

my biometrics is Okay now.

she request (print my T and A file information and wrote "need an Interview A.S.A.P (big letters)) to check my case .
