I am quiet confused and scared to death right now so I would appreciate your help.

Got my GC through asylum from Yugoslavia, country broke down new countries emerged asylee since 2000, green card since 2004.

Never traveled abrod before my company asked me to go.

I am on a Assignment for a USA corporation 100% US owned, I have approved N470 and been traveling with national passport with no issue but i read here that i can loose my green card due to traveling to a neighboring country. Is this True Macedonia was part of Yugoslavia which does not exist but broke up in 1992 I went there to sign a contract for US company.

Can some one let me know if i made mistake on renewing my passport even though my country now does not exist and this blue passport will be dead in dec 2009. they are issueing Serbian and Kosovo passports.

My Mother is Serbian father from Kosovo i have a unique case what do i do.:(

Should i not apply for Citizenship

Don't worry. You should be fine. Even if you are ever asked about this trip during your naturalization interview, just be honest and be sure to tell the interviewing officer the reason for your trip.

This should be considered a change of conditions in your country, visiting a neighboring country is not a problem i don't think, however, if the IO asks you why you renewed your NP just tell the truth and you will be fine.

Asylees from the former Yugoslavia can renew their passports and travel back since the situations has improved drastically.

Thank you very much it seems so many petrifying threds here, I been a good resident as 99.% of all immigrants and was afraid I would loose my GC. MY mother is quiet ill but due to my fear i been forcing her to fly to Austira to see me for years are you telling me I can actually go home. Kosovo is new country but I just hear so many strange stories here

NO, we are not telling you to "go home", if you are in doubts you can always consult an immigration attorney, you can pay $100 for a simple 1 hour consultation. I wouldn't go without talking to one, they should be able to tell you for sure if the conditions in your country have changed according to the UCSIC guidelines or not.
Make sure you choose a lawyer who is familiar with asylum cases, you can ask members here on this board to recommend one for you in your area.
Good luck!

And, if YOU feel uncomfortable at the thought of being back there, then maybe you still do have a well founded fear of persecution.
