Plastic card

Received approval notice on 4/13/2005. Stamping was done on 4/15/2005. But the online message shows "Received fingerprints and processing has resumed...." Now waiting for the plastic card to arrive.
The stamping on the passport is valid for a year, but the officer told us that the card will come by the end of 1 year from the date of stamping. Does it take that long for the card to arrive. From the posts I read , it appears that it takes around 6 - 7 weeks for the card to arrive. Can somebody shed some light on this.

Most people seem to get cards within 60 days or less. There is even a form on the USCIS Web site that you can fill out and mail in asking where your green card is if you don't receive it within 60 days. FYI, when we stamped, our officer told us 'a few months' and another officer told someone else right next to us 'a year'. I think they just make it up on the spot.
