Hi Titan,
I checked and it was July1st that I got it stamped. I checked the
USCIS web-site this morning and found that the card has been
ordered

Can someone who has received his card recently let me know if they write
"Return Service Requested" on the envelop in which they send the card?

I am planning to move to a different place and I havent received my card
yet. Just wanted to find out whether post office will forward my green card
to my new address or would they send it back?

If it doesnt say anything special on the envelop, then post office should be
able to forward the mailed card.

Your help is appreciated.

Yes, the envelop says "Return Service...". CIS letters normally do not get forwarded. If some of them get forwarded, that's due to mailmen/mailwomen's mistakes. Better to move after you receive green card.

Approval : June 11
Stamped : June 22 (SJC)
Card Completed : <never-showed-this>
Card Ordered : July 29
Card Mailed : Aug 3
Card Received : Aug 10 (the card was sent to my lawyer)

Also, the "Resident Since" date on the card is June 2, 2004. I do not know why it is different from the approval date. Does anyone have similar issues? Is this a big problem if I do not ask the INS to correct this?

I have quite a few folks here indicated the difference in the date of approval on the card. It is the same case with my wife's card too. (I am yet to get my card even though I am the primary, it has been 3 months since approval - GOD knows when it will come though).

The reason for the different dates on the approval notice and the card might be that the date on the card is the actual date the petition was approved by the Adjudication officer. The date on the approval notice is when it was printed and mailed out.

Just my 0.2 cents.

Question... how or where do you check the card ordered? Is it the same WAC#?

I have been approved on July 6, did my passport stamping on July 23 on Los Angeles. I had been constantly checking my status to change to card ordered, but up till now it is stating that this case has been approved, etc. etc.

How do I check the status of my plastic card? I am really confused. I have not received anything from the BCIS, other than informing me that I have been approved and providing the passport instructions.

Would appreciate anybody's assistance.

The same way you check your case status online. Through the USCIS online case status system at uscis.gov. If you register, you will be mailed when certain actions take place with your card, up until it is mailed. But if you only stamped on July 23, I wouldn't expect to see any status change until at least early September.

Last Updated date changed to 08/13/04 without change in msg.
I think it must be related to card completion/ordering activity.
Will update more later.

is LUD change any significant ?

Both me and spouse got passport stamped on 8/13 at San Jose but only for me LUD changed on 8/16. No status message update though.

Is there any significance for LUD change ?
