Do you know about "Freedom of Information Act"? Here's the short def:

"Like all federal agencies, the Department of Justice (DOJ) generally is required under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to disclose records requested in writing by any person."

Do you get enough information on your LC status? Are you not put into dark room?

C'mon man. You are talking about America that was 5 years back.

Yes I do get Enough Information on My LC Status. The question is what you call ENOUGH.

ALSO my comments ware on The POST Which was Saying not to write being "ILLEGAL".. Even after you call "5 years", you can still talk about that in public/forum.. I don't see any problems with that OR never heard anybody got arrested because of that.

This is George Bush's America, which has become a bit more on the right than dreamed by George Washington. Neo-conservatives and talk radios have too much impact these days (Listen to Lou Doub or Rush Limbaugh). Most republicans are not in favor of immigration, so they don't take steps to encourage immigration (even legal immigration). 3-4 years back-log is to discourage more people coming in and to encourage those who are already here, to leave. But I am not going to be discouraged by right wing neo-conservatives. There is a sunrise after every sunset.

Out of 300K people who applied for GC, i guess you are the one and the only person to get enough information from DOL. Please dont think i am trying to ridicule you.

Anyway i just tried to advise Foret1 to stop thinking or doing something silly. Thats it buddy. Becasue why should we think about Illegal things when we are sitting here leagally?

Anyway lets stop this discussion here. Otherwise our friend "WhyAllThis" will fire us.

100% Agree. at least that way you have the console of not being working at low wages and also not the feeling of being stuck in one firm. Instead getting a sponsored MBA will make your firm pay the tuition and also you will earn a degree that is worth of $$$ for the rest of your life. So go for higher education....education always pays & it is forever
 
how my Lawyer Screwd my case and me

My Dear Immigration Comrades,
my case was filed in DE on 22nd December 2002,it was then transfered to the Philly DOL on August 15th 2003.
The Backlog Processing Center issued the 45 day letter on January 13th 2005 and my lawyer showed me documents,certified receipt saying that he replied back to it by February 1st 2005 and the BEC received it on Feb 3rd 2005.
On March 23rd 2005 BEC issued a letter stating that my case has been closed and the standard reason being either the CASE was not REPLIED ON TIME or INCOMPLETE DOCUMENTS.
I was made aware of all this on April 25th 2005 till then i was never informed that the 45 days letter was issued,the new case status number,that my lawyer replied to he letter and the case closure was issued.
I am in such a state of shock that my Lawyer Screwed me up so bad.
I want to know what should i do now and how can i sue my lawyer for his negligence or request the DOL to reopen my case.
Please advise me friends

you are not the only one. This has happened to few people before and they were successfully able to reopen there case.

If somebody wants to take lead of sticky thread, thats fine with me, but atleast stick to centralized thread. This is only reason, past initiatives failed, we had many small efforts going on in different threads. Why not have big centralized thread. I can check with moderator if you anybody wants "edit" privilege for stick thread. But please stick to one thread. Market it, we need atleast 100 reponse to that thread to take some action. I am stunned to see that atleast 500 people (3000 views) read that thread and only 30 replied ?
Shame on all who never replied. Do something if not for you, then your community.

saffron, sorry to know that. You have to have your company on your side. Otherwise, I am not sure what else you can do about it. If your company is not supportive and you have enough H1B cushion, I would suggest jumping boat as soon as you can. Good luck.

Saffron, if you go through that thread you can find out what steps did they take to reopen the case, if this is someone's mistake (company/lawyer/DOL/BPC) then they will most probably reopen your case, but if your company is playing games on you then there is very little you or anyone can do about it except changing the company and applying PERM. But you need to have enough time on your H1 for that. :(

1/. The BEC is sending 45-day everyday.

2/. The BEC is certifying LCs which PDs are before 31 Dec 2001.

3/. The BEC is certify LCs state by state, within each state each case will be processed according to FIFO.

4/. After 2001 cases being cleared, they then will move to 2002, 2003 ...

5/. Note: Because most cases from 2001 do not belong to high-tech jobs, it may take some time for forks like us in this forum to see any approvals.

Is BEC processing Federal cases as well as State labor at a time or Federal first and later State? Are they also are they doing RIR and non-RIR together or they consider RIR first?
