Hi,
I have been watching this site and saw the reference to a way to check status using H1B7YR@PHI.DFLC.US. I recieved a reply from DOL but it says "Perm Backlog Case Event" in the heading. I was curious what it meant

PD July 2002 CA
RD Nov 2004
45 day letter recieved & reply March 05
My temporary case number is P-04308-33XXX

Hi all,
I got the following reply when I sent a mail to H1B7YR@PHI.DFLC.US

Perm Backlog Case Event Case Information

ETA Case Number:** P-04308-33XXX Priority Date: 07/31/2002*
Processing Type: RIR* Case Source: Region*
Employer Name: XXXXX Business Activity: XXXXX
Occupation Title: XXXXX Occupation Code: XX-XXXX
Rate of Pay: $*XXXX / *Monthly* Prevailing Wage: $*XXXX / *Monthly*
Alien Name: XXXXX Visa Type: H-1B*
Nationality or Citizenship: XXXXX
Case Received Date: 11/03/2004* Processing Center: Philadelphia Backlog Elimination Center*
Case Status: RIR*

I had 2 questions:

1. What does "Perm Backlog Case Event" mean? This question arises since another colleague of mine recived a reply without this heading.

2. Is it wrong to send a mail to "H1B7YR@PHI.DFLC.US"? I am asking this since my lawyer insisted that this will affect my case.

Please help me out.

same position

Hi Cantstandit ,

I have exactly same situation as yours. My PD is June 2002 , but in my 7th year extension screen shot it shows the PD as May 13th 2005.

I didn't know what to do . Sent a mail to my lawyer. She said she mailed to Phili backlog center , but heard nothing back.

I dont know if it will hurt your case directly.

However I would advise against it IF you do not need your extension now.

Because if people start misusing this to get their status, then BPC will probably slow down on responding to the requests. This will hurt the genuine cases.

Too Much !

Hi,

I send the email to PBEC and got back reply with Case Status as CLOSED !

Mine is July 2002 , VA , EB2 , RIR case and I got 45 days letter in Jan 2005. Replied back in same month (mid of feb was the last date).

I spoke to lawyer and he says don't worry - no big deal - I guess I have to be after him to send the request for correction.

We didn't got any Case Closed letter from PBEC. How long it takes for them to re-open the case and what one need to send them ?

Thanks

I'm sure we can't assume that. BTW, what is the historical denial rate on LCs? For someone beyond 5 years on H1, a denial would entail buying a one way ticket.

I agree, just that I am yet to see someone posting denial. Or maybe there have been but they are just too frustrated now to post anything here.

Thanks..

If you guys don't mind, can someone take care of the TR cases.. sorry, I'm a lazy bum! My apologies and no hard feelings!

not in my case

MY case shows RIR only...I tried email 3 times this month..same info all the time...status RIR.

Doesnot look like PBEC is following any order in processing cases.

aug 17,2001 PD from MD/regional recd dec 2003/replied 45 day letter in Mar 05.

Why don't you call Rosslyn and talk to her about your situation?

How long is Final Review !

whatheheck said:
Welcome to "Final Review" club. My estimation is 2 weeks.

I know some one who has been waiting for more than a month in Final Review Status and Lawer could not help on this ..... not sure if most of these lawers really abrest with BEC process and terminalogy

Let us say 2 to 5 weeks as a range (best to worst)

Good news is PBEC is working hard (I guess folks there are back form a nice vacation time ;) )

Plz throw some light

Sunny

Not a problem, As long as it is career progression of that position and there is no significant role change.

We have seen a few approvals now. Haven't seen anyone being denied the labour. So are we to assume that only result is approval?

lets not go there.

You are hearing approval news mostly because majority of the members in the forum are mailnly qualified ones for LC.
