Petition for Alien Relative (U.S. citizen filing for a brother or sister) Time frame

Hi Guys,

I just noticed on the USCIS website that the processing times for I-130 Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a brother or sister is 5 Months for Texas and Vermont Service centers. Does this mean that if i file I-130 for my sister, she will get her GC in 5 months. ...Sounds ridiculous and unbelievable. This process is known to take 12-18 yrs ....Am i missing something? Have the processing times changed? or is that a bug on the USCIS website?


Any thoughts...can anyone clarify this..

Yes, you're missing something. The petition takes 5 months to approve, then she waits 12-15 years for a visa to become available. FB4 is oversubscribed.
