The USCIS processing times website shows Dec 22, 2004 as the current processing time for PERMENANT RESIDENT filing for a spouse. Am i dreaming or is this correct? Thanks all ..

That date pertains to approval of I-130. Even if I-130 is approved, one has to wait for years for PD to become current in order to apply for adjustment/immigrant visa.

And you can't bring them in from outside US, right?

how about applying for a B or F visa before filing I-130. I have plans to get married soon and I am trying to figure out the fastest way to bring my future wife to the USA to live with me. any ideas will be appreciated. I was thinking getting her an I-20 and bringing her to the USA as a student. Or perhaps as a visitor (6 months each time on Multiple entry B visa) .. this is of course before I file an I-130 for her. Thanks guys.

You technical points are right as always
However you make a judgement call (actually 2)
1. assuming that the person posing the question is from a certain country
2. labelling that country part of the `third world'

Only people from Third World countries need B1 visas!!! Duhhhh..........
