Whenever i called uscis it always said pending background check. As you all might remember i was just sent a notice to take my second fingerprints. I had learned that my namecheck was cleared. Well today, i called and it says, PENDING ADJUDICATION, NOT PENDING BACKGROUND CHECK! WOW!. i THINK I AM ALMOST THERE!. I HAVE WRITTEN SO MANY LETTERS, IT'S REDICULOUS.

Out of curiosity , what country are you from? I wonder if the USCIS is targeting certain countries that would explain some of the background and name checks delays.

I hope so. I don't want to discouarge you and God knows I'm looking for any ray of hope myself (the last few weeks have been esepically frustrating) but I got something "similar" 6 months ago. "Under review by adjudication officer, expect a decision in 90 days". 3 month later, it still said "under review"... God knows what they will answer now.

Out of curiousty, how did you exactly get that status (email, IO told you, letter)????

I really wish you all the luck and that you will be luckier than I was. ... I also hope mine means something although my lawyer keeps saying that it is just somebody else using different language.

A few months ago, I had created a couple of anonymous polls and even then there weren't many responses. I was trying to collect some information which countries are in the radar for additional attention during security checks. Even though people have anonymous screen names they are reluctant to name their country of birth or religeon.

That said, my observation is that nationals of China, India, Middle easterners and russians/east europeans are usually stuck in name check.
