PD Sep-2002
I-140 approved on March,2005
NSC
I am wondering when can file my 485?
and the big question is when can that approve?
is there any advantage 1-140 approved?
Thank you

Hi GCin2005

In which service center you filed your I-140. Thanks

The dates that the service centers report about what 485 dates they are processing....are those the PD or the RD for 485. My PD is Aug 2002. My RD is Dec 2004.

So does it mean that even after my PD becomes current, my case will be handled only when they start looking at cases with my RD.

opinion and hope

I am of the opinion and hope that the processing is based on PD...that makes some sense to me as this is waht dictates since when you have been working on getting a GC .

service centers report the dates they are processing but EB3 485's affected by retrogression will be approved only when their PD is current.

I guess my question was not clear. I was asking what the date is that service centers report...PD or RD.

An example....we have 2 cases
A. PD = Jan 2001, RD of 485 = Dec 2003
B. PD = Aug 2001, RD of 485 = July 2003

Assume that both PD's are current, which case would be processed first...A with earlier PD or B with earlier RD.

Are you sure? There seems to be some confusion about this. There is another thread that discusses how cases are now being handled based on PD and not ND (of course your PD needs to be current but once that happens cases with earlier PD get preference)

I just saw an approval on Rupnet. EB3 from India, NSC, PD = Jan 2002, ND Dec 2003. According to last NSC bulletin, they are handling cases with ND of Sep 2002. How do you explain that?

service centers report the dates they are processing not the priority dates.

check following link and look out for "Now processing with receipt Notice date of"

You probably will see more cases like this if you look through all these forums. And I think it makes sense to consider the PD rather than the ND

it is true that the reported dates on the service centers refer to ND and not the PD....but a cursory survey of the recent few months indicates that the PD is given the priority and not just the ND. Hence, we are seeing approvals of cases with ND later than what is reported as these cases have PD older than the currently published for EB3 or just relatively older for other categories.

here is one members prediction for May 2005 visa bulletin. Lets see what happens but I also dont predict a major jump in PD's.

Completely baseless. I don't know what's blending in the blender of his top shelf :p . The guy is talking about backlogged cases which we all are aware of. I think he's talking out of his .... you know what I mean.

Lets wait another week before jumping to conclusions.

One of my friends case just got approved day before yesterday. His PD was Feb/Mar 02. Currently online it shows they are processing cases with PD Sept 02 - NSC.

PD or RD?

Looks like you are confusing PD with RD. What NSC is showing on the website is RD of I485. PD is LC PD

As far as my friends case is concerned i am talking about PD (as in LC PD). I have checked on USCIS gov site it mentions RD but it is the column header for all cases....
Anyways, i had called up INS recently for Addr change matter... and the customer rep.. mentioned they are processing Sept 02.... i didn't clarify with him PD/RD.... i guess the news this way gives us more happiness and hope... All the best to everyone... on their this journey to GC.. and thanks to people like Ginnu, RealCanadian... and everyone for their time who guide and provide useful advice and solutions....

Thanks
