Passport Stamping Question

Hi folks,

I filed my 485 when I lived in FL.
Then I moved to GA.
Sent in the AR-11 (have USPS return receipts for the same).
485 got approved.
INS sent the letter to my old address in FL (I still recd it as I had made arrangements for the same knowing that this would happen).
The letter says I have to get my stamping done at the INS office in Jacksonville, FL.

Can I go to the local INS office in GA instead to get my passport stamped ?? Let me know. Thanks
 
If I were you, I just go to florida & get over with .. I don;t think you can just go to local INS office get it stamped .. why won;t you call local INS office & find out ... Hope they won;t say after knowing your address change to wait for new letter from INS to new adress .
 
You can get the GC stamped in GA itself as long as you can proved residency thru GA Drivers License, Utility Bills etc. The fact remains that the Local INS Officials has the discretion and they need to be convinced.

Try in GA. May not be a bad idea. Nothing to lose but tonz to gain as you see the Gas Prices soaring!

Passport stamping done

My wife & I got our stamping done in Atlanta itself. Just thought this info might be useful to others.
