Passport Machine

While at a gas station in ohio, I noticed there was a machine that made passports for a hundred dollars. Apparently it takes your picture and everything. Has anyone used or know about a machine like this? The welcome screen said it was property of the government. I just found it a little weird that anyone could just walk up to the machine and have a passport printed out in front of them in under a minute.

It seems like it may be ok given the information you type and photo taken is cross referenced with a database realtime to determine if you are who you say you are, but to be honest I find it hard to believe that the government would allow a secure line to access the database without at least having physical security.

Just checking to see if it might be some type of fake passport machine where they steal your money and give you a fake passport is all. Will post the address in a couple days.

R u sure it read passport size pics, a automated photo booth?
well, i bet you know the machine which prints money when u drop a piece of plastic.
it prints the money right there.

Some call it an ATM....
Some prefer to call it, the Federal Reserve Mint (Atomated) Machine.

you could also drop papers in and its said to mint money on that ...

WOW , the height of technology !

It's a scam. Report it to the police. But check if it's still there. If you return to the same station tomorrow it might be gone.

Indeed, comparing the photo of the machine on my phone it appears that someone altered a Global Entry Kiosk machine to sell fake passports. I am inclined to make the 200 mile drive back to catch the people myself as now I know it is a fake, but wasting 400miles round trip on gas if it is already gone would be a waste as I have no dmv access to cross check the perps if any I get from a copy of the stations cctv cams. It reminds me of the real hustle tv series where they made a duplicate atm. I wonder how realistic the passports really were. Thought about reporting it to the police, but knowing them, they would have blamed me. And no, the station was not near the airport, it was in ohio, I stopped to use the restroom, and now wished I bought gas there so I could get the exact address, but I do remember the city.

Use the web to look up the police department numbers for that city in Ohio (they will have non-emergency numbers) and report it and tell them you have a picture. Let the cops find it if it's still there, and stop worrying that they'll blame you. If you're worried about that, call or mail it in as an anonymous tip.
