Being a canadian PR isn't enough, for every province there is a certain income/tax returns criteria to be met. In ON, last year when i filed for sponsorship, not parents, i was told i had to have filed my returns for over 25K net and be living in canada for atleast a year to be eligible to sponsor. Also, a letter from the bank showing a steady balance of between 7 to 10K and there were a couple of more requirements which i forget now. Please contact the CIC to get the current specific info.
