During my interview the IO told me that he can make only make a decision once he receives papers from another state. He explained me that my name starts with "T" and the papers for names starting with that alphabet are in another state.

I forgot to ask what papers he was talking about. He did have the forms (i485 and i130) in front of him....

Does any one has any idea what he meant by that?

You are right! Now I remember - he did talk something about the A# with my name's first alphabet i.e. "T"

Can you please tell me what does that mean? What kind of papers are there and does it take time to get those papers to my district office i.e. Columbus, OH? Any information would be helpful.

It is basically a complete dossier of your interaction with USCIS. Any and every form, document, etc that you have ever sent to USCIS should be in there. Also results of your name-check, fingerprints, etc from other agencies should be there.

Can you please tell me what does that mean?

Thank you very much for the information! Well, the IO did tell me not to expect a decision soon...I guess this will take time.
