I called NVC and enquired what is the time frame to review. She said
6-8 weeks. I going to call once again in march around 14th.

they said wait 6-8 weeks when I called them a few days ago. I plan to call them around March 14th as well..

When was your I-140 approved and from which service center?

Pls post the above details as I am waiting for my VSC approved I-140 on 2/27/02 to be recived by NVS. Tks. Sri.
 
Is St.Louis -> NVC a new procedure ?

Previously, we receive Pckt 3 and then we send it to Chennai. But is there a new procedure now ? What I heard is that we need to send it to NVC instead of Chennai .. But where does St.Louis come into picture ?

hidefrmyou, here is the new procedure

1)INS sends I-140 approved file to NVC & notice the beneficiary,
  2-4 weeks
2) NVC will sent packet3 to us
  4-6 weeks
3) We send packet to St. Louis office (NVS gives address in packet3)
  1-2 day
4) St. Louis sends to NVC
  2-3 weeks
5) NVC send to consulate
  4-8 weeks
6) Consulate schedules interview,
  10-12 weeks

Total expected time from 1 to 5 = 5-6 months in normal case.

In some cases I don\'t know INS send approval to consulate & all process is fininsed in 3 to 3.5 months.
 
What then is advantage of CP

If the process is taking 6 months before interview, why not just do 485, because by time cp comes you will have ead and then maybe 12 months more to get GC ( by EAD), also less stress and dont need to travel 20 hrs by plane

you got it right buddy. go ahead for 485. i myself was not sure
my company would last another year nor they gonna keep me for
so long. and i just dont want to go through the hassles of AC21
portability and deal with INS anymore. if i go for CP i am sure
i would or wouldnot get GC in 6+ months. and thats it.
 
CP is a boon for people under TSC !!!

TSC is taking around 2 years for approving GC and with CP you should have it within 6-8 months !!!

operator told it will take 6 to 8 weeks before they send it to the consulate.

I see that you had send packet-3 the next day itself to St.Louis.

What all documents did u keep ready??
I would be writing my US address in the present address for DS230,Part-1.But, I need my Packet-4 delivered to local address.
What should I do??

Was there any bar coded letter from NVC.?
What all documents did u send back?
My attroney is talking about having a covering letter,did u send any.
