Out of the country while 485 is pending

I am planning to take a months(Sept '04) vacation and travel out of the country. If by VSC's logic(??), they approve my 485 while I am on vacation and out of the county, would I encounter any issues.

I 485 - EB2 - IND - NJ
RD 09/05/2002
ND 09/18/2002
AD ?????
LUD - 07/26/2004
FP1 10/16/2002
FP2 07/17/2004
AP3 - AD- 06/01/2004
EAD3 - RD - 03/23/2004
EAD3 - RFE - 06/01/2004(Is the application for renewal or lost/damaged card?)
EAD3 - RFE reply received - 07/27/2004
 
I got I-485 approval whie I was in my country.

Hi,

I got I-485 approval while I was out of the U.S. for biz trip + vacation for 2 weeks.
When I came back to the U.S., I filled out I-94 form as usual and came thru immigration officer with my AP document.
I wasn't asked any special question from officer at all about my I-485 approval. I wonder they didn't notice the recent approval...

So I hope you'll be okay as well, although there is no guarantee at all...

case 1) If AP available

If 485 is approved you can enter if u have AP. Make sure
you explain to them that 485 was approved while u were outside
US[ONLY IF THEY ASK].

case 2) If no AP

You can enter on ur valid non expired stamped visa without AP but with
ur ORIGINAL 485 RECEIPT.

FP 2 v/s LUD ?

Question 1 - What is LUD?
My FP2 was done on 07/26/2004, checked with FBI and they say INS had received the results on 07/28/2004 but my online status still play the same old message about the FP1. Is there anything I am missing?

Question 2 - I have seen people talking about getting email from INS, I am surprised when do we give them our email addresses? I have filed and got 2 EADs, 2 APs and 2 FPs but never got any email notifications from INS.
Can somebody please explain?

Go to https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp;jsessionid=cnbz3pV5KKTf

and create an account. When your case changes, you'll be sent an email at the address that you specify.

LUD = Last Updated Date -- the last date on which your case was "touched".

Recently, the VSC doesn't seem to have been updating the LUD / status message when sending / receiving FP until some time after...
