out of F1 status in the process of applying for AOS

Hi,
I have been in legal F1 status up until May 2008. I have recently marry a US citizen in March 2008 before I fell out of status. I am currently in the process of completing my medical for I-485.What are the implications of applying for I-485 when out of status.
