Hello,

My wife was out of country for little less than six months, from 5/20 to 11/14, 178 days in total. Do I need to send any supporting docs to prove her ties to the US?

I have last four years tax transcripts with me but the instructions says five years. Can I send four years transcripts with rental lease agreement to prove her ties?

Thanks.

You can not send what you do not have so only send last four year's transcripts. That will be more than sufficient. If this happened only one time and you were still here (her spouse), she has nothing to worry about.

Should I bother to send any extra docs if my wife's stay was less than six months? This happened only once.

what are u trying to apply for ? please specify why you believe that ur spouse needs to prove her ties , is it for naturalization? if so as its under 180 days you wouldnt really have to send in any proof, may be at the interview if they ask tell them the story, you will have all the documents with you already if at all they want to see it.

Have her bring the documents to interview instead of sending them in since it's not an automatic presumed break in continuous residency.
