options for NON IT person to come and work in USA?

Somebody please share your experience or information.
I really wonder if USA is only for few highly qualified people as a destination? I see so many non IT, first generation immigrants here from all countries. How do they manage? I don't think majority of them are "not in proper status".

Is there a path for a hotel manager or ethnic Cook from employment to Green Card?
I know there is way for Teacher and Nurses.
But what are other professions which can be considered?( except doctor, lawyer, engineers ...)

You can also convince a hotelier to hire you as a chef on H visa.

I've done H-1s for Chef's, Civil Engineers and other non IT people. It's possible as long as the job requires a bachelors degree and you have the appropriate degree.
