OPT to H1 or back to F1 ????

My OPT expies on Aug 20th, I have some questions regarding this matter.

First, if I apply for H1 (premium processing) by say June 1st and have it approved by June 15th for a start date of Oct 1st, can I continue to retain my OPT and F1 status until Aug 25th ? I heard that once a different status(H1) is approved then earlier one(F1) stays cancelled. I assume my F1 status will be cancelled only on Sep 30 rather than June 15th, am I right ?

Secondly, if i get an I-20 during my OPT but do not join school, does my OPT get terminated ? Or does it get terminated the day i re-join school ?

Finally..... I have completed my Masters from Univ A. Now, after my OPT I want to join Univ B for a diferent MS. (I have a F1 visa valid till July 2005) Do i need to get a visa extension or get the F1 for Univ B from the consulate ? Can I start school since I have an I-20 and unexpired F1 visa ?

+++++++++++++++++You are right. The adjustment of status will kick in on a future date (as stated on the approval notice). You are forunate that August 20 plus 60 days keeps you in status.
