OPT Question - Plz reply asap

Hi All...
I am currently in F1 Visa and am planning to start my OPT by 1st of Jul 07. In that case... it would expire on 30th Jun 08. However assuming my H1 would have been filed in Apr 08

1. What will be my status from 01 Jul 08 - Oct 08 (day when i get my H1)

2. Can I still stay in the country and WORK ?

Any suggestions that you would like to give me ??

If OPT expires on 30th Jun 2008, you will be on grace period on month of July and August. Assuming H1 is approved at that time. The earliest you can start is OCT 1 2008. SO the grace period two month, you cannot work legally.

Tks for ur replies. I did knw that I have a 60 day grace period to stay. I was juz worried abt the WORK part.

I spoke to a cpl of frnz who said, as long as my H1 has been filed.. I am good to work from 1st Jul till Oct 1st (and continue if I get my H1)

Do u have any idea abt this?
