Your RD Shows Oct 2002, but the Application shows LIN03. Can you clarify that for me...thanks.

OK, thanks! This is really good news, I'm hopeful that in a few months I should be getting good news like yours. Well, congrats Ing!

Oct 2002 approval ! That is great !

Did you re-do medical ! Did your derivatives asylees get approval with you ?
Is this in TSC or NSC ?

...

I am derivative asylee and I did not submit medicals with my original application I was asked for them in august. Today I received the approval letter which sais that I would not receive my green card until I have my bio done and to wait for a letter in the next 90 days.

Permanent Resident since...

The answer to this question might seem obvious, but I had to ask it.

I've been approved political asylum in 2001 and I've recently received my GC this year. I know that the next step is to naturalize after 5 years of permanent residence. My question is: When have I become a permanent resident? Is it when the judge granted me asylum in 2001, is it one year later when I applied for adjustment of status, is it in 2004 which is the date of issuance on my GC, or is it in 2005 when I received my GC?
Also, as a note on the same topic, my travel documents (before receiving my green card) display PERMANENT RESIDENT in the class field (instead of ASYLEE as does my friend's travel documents). Is this an error, or is this a confirmation of the fact that my permanent resince started before i got my GC?

PR status

Jeunemec,
You are permananent resident since the date mentioned on your GC "Permanent Resident Since Date".
I think when you received your GC, you must have your application for RTD I-131 pending. In the mean while your I-485 got approved and after that when you recieved your RTD (After your GC approval), your RTD says "PR" instead of "Asylee". The officer who worked/approved your RTD application, at the time of approving I-131 must have checked your status and found out that you are now a PR and hence it shows "PR" on your RTD or it could be automatically filled based on your status in USCIS database which would be linked to your Alien number.
That's exactly what happened to me. I had my RTD pending at the time my GC was approved. I thought may be I should call them and request them to change my status on my I-131 application from "asylee" to "PR". But I didn't because I thought I would never use the damn thing anyway, at least I haven't in the past. To my surprise when I recieved my RTD, it stated "PR" instaed of "asylee" automatically.
Hope I answered your question.
Regards,
Punjabi_Munda

PM,
Thanks for sharing the info, I have a pending RTD and this helps. I applied for my RTD back in June when my I-485 was still pending, and I recently received a RFE asking me to mail them back my valid RTD. I will mail the old RTD back before the deadline in January. It will be of no use to me too since I have a passport now, except maybe if I decide to go to Germany in the Summer :)
