October Revalidation

Response from DC office

Hello Everybody,

I called for the 3rd time during the past 3 months asking my DC received date. I sent my documents on October 1st 2003 to St. Louis. Since the processing time is based on DC date, I called DC office to find out the same. During all the 3 times the Visa officer reluctantly said it is the policy of the visa office not to give any status. She also said your revalidation will be processed in the manner it was received and will be sent promptly. I just want to know the DC receive date in order to get an idea so that I can plan accordingly. The DC office is not feeling the pain we are going through. I understand their frustration of answering so many calls a day. But still one good information from them is worth a fortune. Just thought of sharing this info with the group. I know there is no other way to find the status.

I called the DC office at 202 663 1225 and after 40 minutes the operator told me that she can not tell the status unless the application is pending for 12 weeks. Mine was received in the SL Office on October 27 and she told me that it takes about 2 weeks to process after the application is received in the DC office.

Just an FYI.
 
Hello Guys,

All the people in the september thread whose DC date was october 10, got their approval for visa revalidation.

Now its time for this thread to follow the approvals, mainly those who have their DC dates close to october 17 to october 20th.

Status Check

Could somebody please tell me how do you find the SL and DC receive date?

The SL date depends on what service you used to send your docs to SL, i.e. Fedex, USPS etc. Check the tracking info as to when were your papers recieved in SL.

For the DC date there is a phone number you need to call
202 663 1225

Brace yourself for a long wait.

After that IF you are lucky and IF the officer is not in a bad mood , they will provide you your DC date if you have your Passport # handy. They can and they commanly do refuse to give any information.

Personally I feel that calling DC is a excercise in futility. For one it does not make the process any faster!! But then again its my opinion. The only time I feel its necessary to call is if you have not recieved your approval 12 weeks after you submitted your docs to SL.

Did anyone call DC office today ? I called up and lady who handled my call did not tell me the status :(. I told my SL date, she said that they are currently processing pps received on Oct 1 to SL, but thats not true. I guess the processing is based on when its been received by DC office not based on when its received by SL office.

What i have understood is, she does not want to tell me the status.

Can someone call DC office who's SL date is Oct1 :(

They are referring SL dates while answering, as they do not want to tell us DC dates (which they can only tell after looking into the system means some time and effort for them)
Since the theoretical time from SL to DC is about two weeks, I think they would use same terminology in future to answer the calls.
 
Guys,

Most of us did not enquire for our DC date, but please update the tracker with dates as you receive your passport with a visa stamp from the DC office. It will help all the others in line to estimate a time frame for receiving their passports and making their travel plans.

As per the murthy.com, they are processing application received on October 17-19 in their DC office.

DC dates

Hello everybody,

Two of us from the same empoyer applied for visa extension on october 2nd. One of us received the passport today. But I have not received my passport yet. When I called the DC office they said my application is still not processed. The only difference is I sent my spouse passport (h4) along with my applicaiton. Does it take more time? The office did not even tell me whether my visa is approved or not. She just said my visa is still not processed. Let me know if anyone of you experienced any delay i.e. just the applicant (one passport) vs applicant and spouse (two passports).

Hi tr_gc,

Even though your SL date may be same as with your friend, your DC date may be different but close to your friend's DC date. As the processing of visa depends on Dc dates, your application may be processed at a different time. Just wait for a week or so, i am sure you will be approved soon.

I don't think applying with spouse passport delays the processing.

Plz update the tracker when u recieve the Passport back with the visa stamp. There are a whole lot of ppl with Oct dates and someof you might have already gotten your pp back.

Even folks who have gotten 22(G) , if they post the reason for refusal, it will help the forum members who will be sending applications in future.
 
Received my passport and everything looks fine. The new I-94 which I got with my H1 approval notice does not have a expiry date. So, should I use it in conjunction with my old I-94 card?
 
Well its good that the people having SLdate of 10/6 started getting their passport back.

Whats going on with the people having SL date of 10/2. Did anybody hear anything from DC office. Please update........
