OCI for minor

Does parents Indian Passport need to be surrendered when applying for kids OCI (if its not surrendered yet and Parents already have OCI)?

Did anyone face this situation?
 
From what I have been told (by both Travisa and CGINY), for any consular service, you will need either a copy of your surrender certificate, or your cancelled Indian passport. In your case, since your child will be applying based on you being a previous Indian citizen, they will ask you for your documents. You may want to call them and ask again, but this is the response I got from both locations.
 
Thanks Complexity. For supporting documents needed from parents, the website only says Indian Passport.
Has anybody been able to get minor's OCI by submitting copy of not cancelled passport of parent?

Send Copy of your or your wife cancelled Indian passport page that has CANCELLED Stamp or Copy of SC
Both Parents should Sign and write Names on the OCI application Part B.
