Oceania OC 2026 Winners Thread

Are you saying that it is insignificant that they are interviewing case number 900 a couple months into the fiscal year? What does that tell us do you think?
Nothing really. My point was it doesn't matter whether it's 9, or 900 since the cutoff for October and November was 1100.

Obviously know one has any information whether they interviewed every single case between 1-899, it’s a quite a stretch to imagine that they are THAT efficient wouldn’t you say!
A few things to note. First, every case number does not actually exist between those numbers (see “holes” discussions on britsimon’s website if you’re not aware of this). Second, not all OC cases interview at Sydney. Apart from NZ, the bulk of OC cases are usually Fiji. I believe we don’t have the DV26 breakdown yet but as an illustration, last year within OC the breakdown was NZ 302, Australia 894 and Fiji 2359 (plus much smaller others). These are #s of selectees not cases, but you can see the relative proportions (and they are usually fairly similar year to year), in other words, the cases going through Sydney are roughly only a quarter of OC cases assuming most interview in their home country. Third, unless something has changed, @Xarthisius will indeed have (though i believe not yet) information about which cases get interviewed.

But xarthisius’s point still stands, that once numbers get current the exact order has less relevance.

Sorry but in what authority does his point stand? Explain please. Where is your reasoning to back up that statement. Either of you.

It doesn't tell us anything of importance.

In order to get scheduled at case must be current and its ds260 must be processed. So, if every low number case was slow to be processed, then a high case number would be scheduled before all of those cases. That is how the queue process works.

Hey everyone, we were selected and given case number OC21XX. Anyone know what the chances of our number becoming current and getting selected for an interview? I’ve been reading through other threads here from previous years and there looks like a 50/50 chance with this number - but I’m hoping it’ll be ok! We didn’t find out we were selected until recently, so hoping all of this doesn’t cut our chances.

In DV2024 OC region went current at 2700 and in DV2025 it was 1775. It depends on selectee numbers and other factors. DV2026 already started in a very peculiar way with October cutoff 1100. November cutoff was frozen and I’m guessing a freeze or relapse might be something to expect for OC this year. We shall wait and see

Yeah, probably a 50/50 chance...

Hi All,

From my understanding the following for the DV1 is needed:

Completed D1 Coversheet
Prinout of 2NL appt. letter
Printout of DS260 confirmation
Copy of passport bio page
1 x passport photo
Printout of medical appt. confirm
1 x express post satchel
Original and copy of education cert
Original and copy of birth cert
Copy of AU fingerprint police check

Now a lot of this is quite confusing to me so please bare with me

with the required documents such as education and birth cert
can they just be the copies sent as appose to the actual certs themselves

and what would be the direct email to ask all these questions?

Seems I’m the exception here but I don’t find it strange to send the original and copy. I’ve had to do that for residency applications in every other country. I’m actually surprised we don’t send our passports and only bring it on the day.

You need to post your medical appointment results OR confirmation. So if you have done your medical appointment then post the results, otherwise the confirmation of appointment.
And it seems we post the original AND copy of police checks. I know the checklist says copy only but that doesn’t make sense and if you look at the “other country” police check line it has a tick box for both original and copy, so I think it’s the same for Australia’s police check. I agree it’s confusing.

Anyone done their medical exam yet?
Please share your experience, thank you!

Also random thought but why does the doctor need an express envelope if we are posting the results with our other documents anyway? Where is it being sent if not the embassy? The express post envelope is only valid inside Australia anyway….
I would have presumed they have their own sealed envelopes rather than us buying an express post to go in another express post bag.
My university sent my records in their own sealed envelopes.

Hi @CoffeeandTea ,

AFP check is copy only because the paper it's printed on is not relevant. What they want is the QR code as the check is completed by them online as it is a digital verification.

For other nations they may not be digital, and in those cases, the paper itself is verification of authenticity, hence original and copy required.

Hi @CoffeeandTea ,

Medical exam:
- Pee in a cup.
- Medical history
- Vaccination history
- Physical exam (ears, eyes, heart, lungs, joints, reflexes, palpation of abdomen)
- Blood test
- Chest X-ray

The physician sends your medical report to you, not the embassy/consulate. Hence the express envelope. You pay for the envelope, they don't include that cost.

Thank you for the medical exam list

You don’t get the medical report on the day? Ohh ok that’s strange. I’ve always received it immediately after. Especially for such basic checks and templated things.
I didn’t know the doctor posted you the results.
Australia is quite peculiar with how it does things for this it seems.
Thanks again for sharing.
