Obtaining Drivers License with new i-797

I am on h4 and it got extended till next year i.e 2011. I had my first h4 visa n i94 dated till april 2010.
Now when i show them the new 1-94 printed on the i 797 they say there is no date and stamp as how it would be on the original i -94 when we first enter this country.

My question is do i need to exit and enter again into this country ?

-------------------Inform them it is from USCIS and USCIS don’t Stamp the approval notice as it is printed on official paper and it came from USCIS and it has Date on it. If they want to confirm then Approval notice has Phone number on it. It seems you met someone who does not know about USCIS as they don’t deal with USCIS. Talk to DMV supervisor he/she may know more than the person you met or try to go to other DMV Branch where lots of Immigrants go for DL. Inform them that Person get White I-94 if one takes Flight to US or Enter from Border from Canada or Mexico and USCIS dont give WHITE I-94 and you have Valid I-94 that is attached to your Approval notice
My question is do i need to exit and enter again into this country ?

When i spoke to our attorney, he asked me to go and come back since the visa is expired on the passport. i guess i have to do it....thanq for the answer though.
