waiting for the Oath Letter

My interview went quite well. I was scheduled for the 8am interview on 15-Oct-2009 at the Prosperity Avenue office in Fairfax, VA.

I was 20 minutes late, because of the horrendous traffic/rain.

I did not have to wait for more than 5 minutes - was called in pretty much right away.

The IO was obsessed with the native prononciation of my name - asked me how to say it and made sure that the same will go on my Certificate. He was extremely friendly and pleasant - cool guy altogether.

I asked the officer if he liked his job. The officer complained what a terrible organization USCIS is and how he can't wait to get the out of there.

He went over the forms, asked me the standard questions, then smoothly proceeded to testing my civics and history. The most difficult question for me was about the number of amendments to the constitution.

As soon as I answered the last question/which was the writing one - he said - Congratulations - you are approved! He got out a big red 'Approved' stamp and stampted it on the first page of my N400 on my file.

I asked if he could schedule me for the oath ceremony - he said he could only have done it if my 5-year anniversary was today or tomorrow.

Anyway - because I have not reached my 5 years at my interview - I will have to go 'back into the queue' - and that I should expect to get an oath letter in the mail 2 or 3 weeks after my 5 years mark.

My on-line status is still the same, i.e. transferred to local office/waiting for interview. Now waiting for my oath appointment letter.

Online case status: does it get changed once after interview till you get an Oath letter?

please comment on above subject.

i got my "recommended for approval" in oct 28 interview. no online changes so far.

Received my WIFE'S Oath letter finally on Oct. 31st. Five days after five year GC anniversary.
