Number of days outside the USA with approved N-470

It doesn't hurt to have your employer include letter indicating length of assignment.
It doesn't matter if you apply together or separate from wife as every application is adjudicated on its own merits.

Not necessary, as you have an N-470. But it wouldn't hurt to get it just in case the interviewer asks for it.

No difference. They are processed separately anyway.
