Just called a minute ago, seems the message is correct now. it's no longer that "390-420" message.

Everyone that has RD before 7/10 should check if your case has been approved in past few days and update rupnet.com

Thanks!

I dont know if this true

I dont know if the AVM is fully fixed, but when I punched in my LIN # today after reading chilly's e-mail, it said Case approved.

I hope this is true. AVM also say's my wife's case has been approved.

getting weirder

My msg is correct now "processing resumed..." but wife's still says "FP notice was sent...." . Stupid ain't it ??????/

I think the database is still being restored, that's why some of us got the right msg, but some of us didn't.

But, at worst it will show old message, not wrong one, so bvriyer1 your case should have been approved already.

Buy some beer and go nuts!

I just checked AVM, it still says 390 to 420 days and not mentioning my FP also. This is the same message I was getting from last Sunday.

But one of my friend who got his approval last Friday now says, the AVM is working fine for him and says his case got approved. May be the AVM is OK for people who already got approvals.

No, it works for me, but my case hasn't been approved yet. (fp received, case resumed, blah blah blah. as usual)

bvriyer1

My message also changed to approval. I-485 - RD 6/5; LIN 226, NO RFE. Hoping that it is the truth.

Awaiting approval letter.

My 2nd EAD was approved on 6/27 ( Saturday) and envelope was stanped 6/27 and I recd it on Monday 6/29.

AVM message

The AVM message for me is still "...390-420 days..." as it was on last Sunday. However, my wife's AVM message changed yesterday to say that a RFE has been mailed to us on 8/6/02. We'll have to wait and see whether that's true or not.

Looks like AVM corrected for some people and not corrected for others. Mine used to be "FP received and Processing was resumed" , I checked yesterday midnight, it says " 390 - 420 days blah...blah....". I hope it will be corrected soon for everyone.
Man...., This NSC driving me nuts with all their stupid problems.
two months ago it was IBIS checks, Now this. Hope this will not delay our cases.

Before the AVM was broke, It said the RFE was sent on 7/29 but now it says that RFE has been sent on 8/6. Weird.!!! LIN 233

samirbshah
What AVM says for you may be correct. It happened to my friend the same way. His RFE was sent on 7/9 and it was not deliverd so he was sent the same RFE again on 7/22.

Inyou case INS would have sent you an RFE on 7/29, but in case it was not delivered to you, they will try to resend it. When you check AVM, recent message on AVM was giving the message about the recent RFE which was sent to you on 8/6.

Please check with the IIO, he may tell you about this in detail.

Jagi.

No Change in my AVM : still same old

My AVM has not been restored - it still says FP notice sent October 2001 ......; I checked today (8/7/02) morning.
Actually it was 'Processing resumed.....' until Friday of last week;
An RFE was sent for my wife and son and NSC had received our response on 7/16/02. So still waiting approval. No RFE for me.
Details :
RD : 6/12/01
RFE sent for dependants : 6/26/02
Response to RFE received by NSC : 7/16/02

Here is what I think happened:

Their VMS crashed last week and they lost all their current messages. They had to use their back up to restore the messages. Guess what, last time they backed this up
was sometime last year.

So now we all hear these obselete messages. I guess they
will not assign a valuable resource to just manually restore
the messages. If we ask so, our processing time will take 2 more month... so be quiet...

Anyway, we are stuck with those older messages.

The good thing is:
If there is any status change, the VMS will still be correctly pdated
before the next crash.

Date and Time: 08/07/02 @3:30PM(EDT)
After 12 redials (using my cell phone), there was a connection to INS Nebreska service Center(402-323-7830). I checked my status and there was no update on the AOS. Pressed "0" to connect to IIO.(After few seconds a cordial female IIO was on the line)
IIO:INS NSC. How can I help you?
Me: Good afternoon madam. How R U doing?
IIO: Doing fine. What is your question?
Me:Madam, I have applied my I-485 application in July 2001 and My RD:07/11/02. I didn't recieve any decision about my application.I gave my FP on 05/06/02. I haven't heard any thing about my FP on AVM. Are they OK?
IIO:Could you please tell your LIN #?
Me: I told my LIN#(LIN-01-247-51XXX)
IIO: Hummm. I am not able to see any info about your FP. But your case has been assigned/looked after by an IIO. She will take decision about your case. If she find every thing OK your cas will be approved.
Me: Thanks.(Thought of asking AVM messaging problems. But forgot to ask).
Total call time:4.22minutes
Now question to some GC veterns:
Can I expect some thing positive is happening here or this is a common thing(File moved from storage to IIO's Desk)

went to an officer's desk?

I just talked to an IIO ans was told that my application "Just went to an officer's desk, should hear something very quick"

Now I have the same question as Chari, how long does it take for a case to be approved after reaching the desk?

Thanks

It would be very interesting ...

to wait and watch these two cases (Chari and Double_Squeeze).

We can have some idea about how authentic and correct the IIO at the other end of phone line is.

Chari and Double_Squeeze, please keep this thread alive and keep posting.

Thanks for your input.

Talked to IIO today

I managed to talk to and IIO today after trying for about half an hour.

My AVM message still says 'Your I485 on ..." I asked the IIO about the fingerprints, he told me that he cannot tell about that. Then I asked him my case status, he then told me that my case is with an Officer and should hear a decision in 1 to 3 weeks time. When I asked him about my wife's case, he told that per federal law he cannot talk to me about it. Then I asked my case being the primary and my wife being dependent, does our file go to the officer together, he answered in affirmative.

Hope I get the approval soon.
