Hi All

I have learned many things from this group. My GC was approved last week. Thanks for this group for your support..

My first name on GC is printed as "seetaramrao" whereas on passport and SSN appears as "seeta ram rao". (Please note that there is space after SEETA and space after RAM).

Will it be a problem in the future at Port of Entry(POE)?. Do I need to correct it on passport?

Bye

I doubt it will be a problem at the POE. But I am at a loss as to why you believe you should change your passport? Would you change your passport if your GC had "John Smith" as your name? ;)

If you want them all to match, which might not be a bad idea, file an I-90.

so no problem?

Hi RealCandian,

Thanks for your reply.

I mean... my name on the passport is handwritten as "seeta ram rao" and infact I prefer to type it as "seetaramrao" only as all my education certficates are in that way.

But person who has hand written my name on passport as "seeta ram rao". I think he/she might have done for clarity and I never worred about that before.

1.Since now I got GC and I was wondering whether they should match.

2.In SSN also they had written as "seeta ram rao" when I had received first time. Now I am going to SSA office next week to show my GC and re-apply for SSN without any conditions on it, can ask them to type name as "seetaramrao" or leave it as it was "seet ram rao".
Will they also loook for matching names on passport or GC? (I mean will someone really care about spaces inbetween letters in the names?). Thanks for your help.

Please reply...

Get it corrected on whichever document has it wrong, whether it is the GC or the passport.
