March 1st I got an email saying that a letter was mailed to me requesting additional evidence. Naturally I am speculative... Anyone have any ideas what It maybe?

- It could be a medical again:mad: Those test cost a lot of money... What test should I do HIV, TB- I usually do the X ray because my Skin test is always positive(not to mention irritating on my skin).

what pisses me off is that my medical just made a year on 2/14/2007 WHY WHY didn't they work on my file prior to this date? How long are medicals good for?

- Could be Biometrics AGAIN, I guess I can understand, in which case I am thinking how long will it take for them to get the results another year? so they can have it done over and over and over and over again? Anyone detect frustration here???

I have no clue as to what else it maybe, but pretty sure it is 1 of the above or maybe both. I will keep you posted... Last time I got excited about request for additional evidence thinking i was getting processed, well, here I am still waiting, except this time around I am smart enough not to be excited...

When I was waiting for my CG I got an RAE, asking to return my old Refugee Travel document and copies of any I-94 that I had and explain when, the reason why, and the lenght of my trips outside USA. As soon as they got the info, my GC was issue in a week.

I hope your case is similar and you will soon become a Green Card holder.

Suerte
:)

Thanks for the responses.

I got intouch with my doctors office and they informed me that It maybe TB skin test related. When i did my medical for TB I didn't do the actual test as I had done it 10 years back with a different doctor. I requested the X ray test. My skin test was positive back then so I figured i didn't want to go through the discomfort of the test.

I will keep you posted on what the evidence needed will be. Either way I am not thrilled.

PS: I haven't done any travel outside the US for over 10 years. I doubt it will be any travel issues... Either medical or Biometric... don't need new surprises.

Cheers!

Pinkie...Chill Girl! You will find out what it is. Probably somoene missed a signature or somethin else which is minor.

This is an RFE in all likelyhood and not an RFI which you got before. RFe's are sent by officers which means your case is approved as soon as you respond to the RFE..

A friend of mine got one asking for the birth certificate that wasn't translated and another one that had not marked the the x's on the aplication. It could be anything. Just wait and see happens!!!

it should be biometrics code 1

I looked up my case status on the net and it should some activity on 03/02/07 not sure what thats about. They already sent me a RFI...

The letter did not arrive yet.

Turns out I was right. It's the TB Skin Test. They want the actual skin test to verify that the test was done and what the size of the reaction was. On top of that they want a chest xray if the reaction was 5mm or more...

I took the original skin test in 99 so I have to go to the hospital where I had it done and request the medical records so I can take them to the civil Service doctor. For Verification and then i guess he submits this information.

PS: The Civil service doctor is saying that they Immigration is very strict about the TB test to the point that they are asking people to get liver test.. which drags your application for months ugh!

Special note: If you already had the skin test before, your reaction will be greater than the 5mm in which case I guess you will require additional tests to be performed.

Heads up to those who may get this request for evidence.

I think Immigration makes rules up to frustrate me, this is so frustrating. I am having one of those weeks.

my civil surgeon told me that this is new policy for the people who wanted to adjust their status.
and they told me that its been 3-4months that they strictly required tb skin test. and we're just caught up in the middle of the transition policy.
anyway i just did mine today and my civil surgeon asked me to come back on thursday to get the results.
i hope its their last request and approve me very soon :D

Sekia do you have a reaction to your skin test? When i did mine the first time I had a reaction and then the recovery of that part of my skin was very uncomfortable and if you have a reaction you don't want people seeing it.

My Doctor said that i shouldn't take the test again because it would be bigger than the first- thats the norm. In which case they still have to prescribe some medication for you to take... It's hella annoying test if you ask me and thats another month of waiting.

They gave me 12 weeks to respond.

pinkie,
this is my 1st test. i didnt get any reaction yet and doc want me to come back tomorrow ,
hopefully it turns out fine for me and you.
i let you know tomorrow :D

IF YOU HAD REACTION 1ST T DO N'T DO SKIN TEST AGAIN, STRAIGHTAWAY DO X-RAY.BECAUSE I HAD REACTION IN MY SKIN TEST AND ACCORDING TO MY DOCTOR IF THERE ISANY REACTION EVEN LITTLE BIT INS REQUIRE X-RAY.

Well, obviously USCIS just changed the rule; you have to do the TB test no matter what your previous test result was.

The point i got from the Doctor's office is that if you ALREADY had a positive skin test in the past( in my case i had it done waaaaaaay back) the result would be bigger... In which case I was adviced to get my records with the RESULTS and treatment implemented back then.

Bottomline is this, if you are doing a medical test for immigration purposes a fresh you have to do the skin test. That means if you did it in the past, your doctor should reflect the results- No reaction or reaction- in which case they need to include the size of the reaction and the Treatment given- usually antibiotics...

I am not sure if they ask for a liver test if it is way back
