New Text Message System works?

I am wondering how is the new USCIS.gov text messaging to cell phone system works when there is an update of a case in the portfolio? Anyone with a case update and received text message on the cell phone, please advice. I want to know if it is reliable or if we have to login regularly to check case status? Thanks.

You can try it, but the best way is to check the web, I got my status changed on 9/30/09 and I still haven't received an email to notify the update, crazy huh!? Good thing I check the web every other day.

Not sure about online LUD update but you will receive a text for sure when they send you FP notice or when your case gets transferred to a local district office for an interview. I got both. It will wake you up 2am in the morning though. Apparently that’s when USCIS system gets updated.

If it doesn't show up in another week, make an infopass and have them print you a copy of your interview letter.

Noman74, thanks but I think I'm on time with the process, I should be getting an IL this week or the next. I have to drive 6 hours to my DO so an INFO PASS is only if I really really need it. hehe!

No I don't hahaha but I live in sweet home Alabama and we don't have a DO in the state so I have to go all the way to Altanta hence Im all the way by the gulf coast, UGH! New Orleans DO is SOOO much closer I really don't know why I have to go all the way there, I guess I have no choice hehe!
