New Processing Time Updates

The new processing time updates have been posted at uscis.gov. NYC, as well as many other "fast" DOs, have moved up by a month to June 19th. I'm still wondering whether or not that number actually means anything.

The number means that they are processing at least 1 application with that priority date.

Are you sure about this? I think the dates mean that they are comfortable enough to say they have completed processing of all (or a majority0 'eligible' cases on or before that date. By 'eligible' I mean cases that have cleared all background/name checks.

Vorpal - it makes sense that NYC has that 6/19/07 date as we have see some June and July 2007 filers get interview letters. Remember the sample of applicants on this board are so small that it is hard to gauge the true number or interview letters being sent out. In addition, we do tend to hear more of individuals who are experiencing delays.
 
That is not what I said

The date means that they are at least processing one application with that date posted. It doesn't mean that they are finished processing applications prior to that date.

I think that most people who have their applications processed in a timely manner don't really have the need to join a forum like this one! :)
