Next Steps?

What are the next steps after approval over AVM?

Is the stamping date, time and place in the approval notice?

What is the estimated time from approval over AVM to get
stamping done and receive plastic card?

Do we qualify for Unemployment Insurance in case laid off?
How does one go about getting UI?

Please reply to above questions.

You will receive courtesy copy of approval, which will include the time/location for stamping, photos info etc.

It takes a week to receive the courtesy copies, which should be adequate for stamping. After stamping, it typically takes 3-4 weeks for the cards to arrive (2 weeks for your AVM message to change to cards ordered, and another week for pastic delivery).

Regarding, UI, I am not sure.

Please don't be so optimistic. I stamped my passport at Norfolk too on 07/29/02, but till last weekend AVM was not changed yet.
 
Generally 3-4 weeks to get the card

I agree with SriniB that the card arrives in about 3 to 4 weeks, as i have done a quick check of the previous postings recently here in this site and most of them got it within 4 weeks. Ofcourse, there are few exceptions.

gcwaiter@ric: Check your AVM today/tomorrow, I am sure it will change pretty soon to "Card ordered"

Usually, most of the cases get processed in 3-4 weeks (say 75% of them). As always, there will be some unlucky ones.

Sorry to note that AVM is not updated yet in your case.

My guess is, AVM will be updated by Friday (08/23/02) or Monday, 08/26/02 for both our cases and we should get our cards within a week after that.

Of course, this is my opinion and I could be wrong! :)

card ordered 07/30 No card yet

Got stamped on July 5, 2002
Card ordered July 30, 2002 for both me and my spouse
Card received Aug 5, 2002 for me but for my spouse no card yet?
eventhough the card ordered dates are the same.

Is anyone in the same boat??????????? Any ideas?????????
