Attorney that worked on our H-1B and H-4 visas said a new law is being processed by the federal government that would allow H-4 holders to work. Anybody that knows something about?

Yes. We know that the law...

is still in its embryonic form and will never see the light of the day!!

This is great news

This is great news, but why is there so much pessimism about it ?
Is there a lot of opposition in congress to this law.
Maybe things will get better if the economy improves.
Anyway even if this does pass the subcomitee when do u think the earliest it will be made into a law.

Maybe after 10 years!!

When the general anti immigrant sentiment has subsided...
When an immigration friendly govt. in place again...
When H1s and their employers form a powerful lobby ...
When H1s are reluctant to come to US, because their dependents are not allowed to work...

Great news if true and realistic

That would be definitely great and that’s why I don’t understand I couldn’t find anything about on the Internet.

I agree with you snd

I think the attorney is confused. The work authorization for L-2 holders went into effect about 2 months ago. INS just published enough information a week or so ago so that the law is now useful and we know how to apply for an EAD for an L-2 holder.
