New feature on USCIS case status page

You can now create an account and have case status updates emailed to you. There is an interesting date field that appears alongside your case status when you do this - this tells you the last date when there was some internal processing on your case. This date can be different from what appears on the case status page - tells you if something is being done on your file.

Now there's is warning posted on the website against unauthorised use of the system - I guess that outlaws Greenland script and such!

frodo, thanks for breaking the news. this is indeed interesting. USCIS deserve some credit for advancing their costumer service.

frodo, Thanks. But how to find out when anything last has happened to your case, It says same old message. Please advice.

We won't know what , but we can know when if something has happened to your case. Did you look at the date field corresponding to the case # in your portfolio summary?

You could make an educated guess (sometimes) about what took place on that date I suppose - in my dependents' case the date seems to correspond to the date we asked for an address change (we mailed the letter).

Here's a link to I485 standard operating procedure (it could be a bit dated as the document goes to August 2002). The pdf file details the various processing activites that take place (even before the file reaches the adjudicating officer). Maybe with this we could make a bit more sense as to what's happening.....

Oh...well,

looks like using Greenland script is now not allowed ...???

I, for one, will stop using it. Unless somehow we can confirm that it is okay......until then, byebye, Greenland..... boo hoo.

HI:
How did you register? I tried. it goes to a terms and conditions page and no button to click to further the registration. Can you please tell me how I can register?
Thanks a lot

I hope what ever features are added is good for us. I have a question. Are we allowed to put our dependent applicants info into the portfolio or do they need to do it separately

To the same individual account, I have added my wifes lin number too, it worked...., I hope we can add Lin numbers of a family.., without voilating the rules...

Hi:
I do not know if we are allowed or not. But I added my wife's application info to my portfolio. The system accepted and I was able to see her case details along with my case details in one profile. I guess there is no problem in combining dependent application to you your portfolio.
Hope this helps

I aws able to register and see my case portfolio. However, I have the following question.

My Last Updated shows 08/14/2002.

Actually, I had my 1st FP done on 08/15/02. I called FBI number and confirmed that they have sent my FP back to NSC 0n 08/15 or 08/16. What does this last update 08/14 mean? Does it mean that they never received my FP back? Otherwise, their system should have shown some thing later that 08/15.

Any of you in the similiar situation. Any suggestion highly appreciated.
