New employer means new visa also?

Hi,
I am an Indian national who is on H1B in the US for the past 3 yrs. I recently got laid off and in the process of getting a new job. The new employer is willing to process my H1B.

The problem is I need to go to my sister's wedding in 45 days. So, I have asked my employer to do premium processing on my transfer application and he has agreed. But I get only a week there in India.

Questions:
1. Do I need to get a new visa pointing to my new employer or would the existing one (which is valid till Aug 2004) be valid for my return? From reading your FAQs, I do but just wanted to confirm.
2. My wife is on a H4 (got when I was with previous employer) and is going to coming back with me. Does she also need to change to a new H4 visa?
3. Can I not do these changes and just come back with the existing visa and change it here?
4. Is everyone asked to do a personal interview these days even for a visa transfer?
5. Would I be subject to the new H1B quota even though this is just a transfer?

Any insights on this would be very helpful.

----NO, she can enter with Visa stamp that has past employer name on it

---- YES you can and if you get H1 transfer approved better show that new approval at POE and you will get new I-94 till the date of new H1 transfer approval you have to show passport visa and new H1 transfer notice to POE Inspector

Do you mean in US consulate in India?
5. Would I be subject to the new H1B quota even though this is just a transfer?
