My number is 11xxx and I'm one of the lucky people who got DV2005 from Asia/Iraq. I'm already a H1B visa holder. I already had send the required forms to KCC (may be not need it, but to be sure as they ask for it). Any information will be highly appreciated for further processing issues and experiences with I-485 in Detroit, MI. For security clearance does anybody knows which one is required, local, state or FBI one?

Thanks for reply. I do read your comment for other users and I think you deserve more than a simple thank you. God blesss your efforts that helped many people to understand the process of Green Card.

I was wondering as the FBI clearance demand longer time, can I apply for it while I have some time before applying for formal application at our local INS before or within October 2004.

From your experience do you think I will need any local or state clearance?
 
No, you don't need to do anything. USCIS will forward a formal request for security clearance to FBI, you cannot do anything in this case. Sometimes it takes only a couple of weeks, sometimes FBI takes several months, sometimes FBI is done fairly quickly, but USCIS is not acting based on those results, it really depends on an individual situation.
