Hi,

I need to travel to my home country very soon. I did applied my AP on 3/21 and in june 1st week they sent me RFE, I did responded and the RFE receive date is 6/15.
So far they did not approved my AP yet. I have open SR by calling USCIS and they responded it may take 60 days from date of RFE received.

Is there any possibility to expedite my AP by visiting local USCIS office? I am local to Newark, NJ and if there any experience with this center who already had this kind of situation is greatly appreciated.

If you are in a valid H or L nonimmigrant status, you can travel without AP.

I was in the same boat. My wife's AP was filed on 3/28, RFE issued on 5/10, RFE recd on 6/20 (don't ask me what all I had to do to get the RFE!!) response to RFE sent on 6/23.

Call them at 1-800-375-5283 (Options 1-2-1-SRC-1-1-3) and expedite the case by stating "Huge Financial Loss".

In the event of expediting a case, the officer working on that case will need to respond in 5 days. If they do not need anything else from you, they will approve the case. At least that's what happened to my wife's case. Good luck!!

Also, if Info pass appointment is helpful to get AP immiaditely at local office? please let me know. I can go to Newark local office with required expedited documents.

Finally it is approved yesterday and approval notice came to attorney office. Looks like attorney escalation and my expedite worked.
Anyway Happy Ending....
