hey friends, can anybody tell me what do next? Its been 7 years since I filed I-485, i haven't received medical letter, only fingerprints every year. I tried filling inquiries several times but I get the same letter everytime saying its under background checks will take 6 months. For god sake its 6years now.
Tried going to congressman, he said people at NSC e-mail him telling the case has been transferred to San Francisco Asylum Office in August 2006, But haven't heard from them anything yet.

IS there anything left that I can try and you think is helpful, please share your knowledge and views about my case. Will deeply appreciate!!!!!!!

Writ of Mandamus which i'm getting ready to start too, you need to hurry up though before they close that door very soon.

Hello, I think something is going on with your case. Did you get anything from San Francisco Asylum office. If it is true that your file has been transfered back to that office, they are not considering you for greencard application processing, but they are considering your original grant of asylum. If you are sure the case has been transferred, you might contact the asylum office; in some cases, if you write to them they may repply to your inquiries; other times, they don't; but generally, they respond.
In most cases, when it comes to reviewing asylum case the asylum offices have jurisdiction over it, and the Service Centers refer back cases like this to the asylum office. I advice you that you consult with an attorney.
Also I had a friend who experienced the same thing as yours. He used to get a fingerprint twice a year for 5 years, without any approval, and his case active all the time...hope you the best; but when it comes to San francisco asylum office, there is little you can do. In most cases, it is far away where you live, which makes it hard for asylum seekers to go there and inquire about their cases because the office has jurisdiction over a number of statesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss............

Mr. asylee; did you write to the office of Obdisman. They are helpful. I suggest that you try that office. You case is moving and it needs only a little push. Also one thing about the Mandamus that you should know is that it is insturment that forces USCIS to either deny or grant the fenifits sought. So if they have good reason and need more time to process your case, they may deny your application, which will leave nothig, but despair. So I suggest that you evaluate the pros and cons of it before you strart the process. I suggest that you contact the Obsuman office and give them extra time...I beleive that they are about to approve your case; they need little push and Obdusman can do that little push..good luck

thank you Faysal, Do u have any contact information for San Francisco Asylum Office.

Please find their contact information below. There are two address. The one they provided me is the first one. And I used it and they recieved my mails; however, there is another one for them...so I suggest that you both use and just send each address the same letter. Also they provide a phone number, but they don't answer it. In most cases, it is good if you have the contact information of the officer handling your case...but generally they respond to your inquiry. Also I suggest that you contact the office Obdusman...they add extra contact to yours...good luck

Try to email NSC as well to find out for sure where it's been sent. Ask them about your status and tell them that you have been waiting for a long time. The email address is NSCLawsuit.Asylum@dhs.gov

They are good at responding. Even if they make you wait a week or so, they do get back to you.

Hi MGTgrl

my asylum was approved on 1998 and i applied for my GC on June of 2000 @ NSC and so far i have not received my GC . I got BIO last may and that;s it , nothing else from NSC. i sent several letter to NSC , DHS , FOIA , Ombudsman and contacted my congress man and senators. i also sent an email to NSCLawsuit.Asylum@dhs.gov , but nothing positive. what else should i do ? you applied like 4 years after me and you already have your GC .I don't even have driving tickets in this country. so i have no idea why no one can answer me or help me or why my case is taking this long. please advise if you think of some thing else. Thanks

Hi Armin,
Sorry to hear about your long wait. Do you know if you are stuck in name check? When was the last time you emailed them? Like you see a few of us got approved after emailing them. I believe it works because it worked for me. What do all those people you contacted (senators,...) say to you?

At this point you have every right to sue them. Maybe somebody (on this forum) who has done it before can help you file a writ of mandamus. Check the sticky thread on this forum. But also just keep on emailing them. Be nice at first, but if no response, maybe you can threaten to sue them (it worked for some). I wish you good luck!

PS. Make an Infopass appointment as well and ask them what's going on. You have every right since your case is very old.

Thanks. I just sent emails to NSCLawsuit.Asylum@dhs.gov and Uscis-COMPLAINT@dhs.gov last night. I hope to get something positive from them.
Thank you

I just talked to a lawyer and she told me that i can't file WOM any more since DHS ask DOJ to block any cases related to immigration. I just want to see if this is accurate or if any one else has other info about it ? Let me know please.
