Need info on Address Change

I have been in us for 6+ years. I had F1 then H1B Visa.

I never used the change of address form. I am in my current address for more then a year after getting a job [H1B transfer].
Do I need to file for address change ?

How INS should get the address change information other then my change of address form filing ?

Another question is, I will be moving to a new address soon but in the mean time I may stay in a temporary address for 2/3 weeks. When do I need to file for address change then ?

Thanks,

whatever other methods of informing INS is there, you have to file AR11 for any non temporary address change.

You can file AR11 after going to the new address since your current address is already with INS. the copy of I129 filed for your h1 will be proof.

Jaxen, Thanks for your reply.
In all my previous H1B tranfers, my office actually applied for those so in I129 they used office addresses. Because after the H1 is tranferred I usually move to the new address.
So Do you think I have to file the address change for my current address [I am definitely moving from here within two weeks]. Is there any grace period ? I heard so many scary stories!!!

In any case thanks,

No grace period...

Should file within 10 days of moving. In your case, you can maintain that you still maintain residence at the office address. But none of the employers come to the h1 holder's rescue when INS pounds on an individual.

So you better send AR11 now and send another after moving to the new place. Send it by certified post and retain a copy. All you need to spend is total of less than 10 bucks.
