need help!!!!!!!

hey everyone i'm new to this so i hope you can bare with me. but i need help. i have overstayed on my visa by a year and a month. and bascially i want to return to the u.k. real soon. do i have to get in contact with immagration or can i just go to the airport and tell them that i have overstayed and hopefully put me on the next flight home. iam scared cause if i have to an atterney i will not have the money to pay. please help

Don't worry. You are free to leave and nobody will stop you. However, you will not be able to return for at least 10 years, and even after that it will be extremely difficult for you to ever obtain a visa again.
