note: I am not in any status.

who filed the petition? if it's your parent, is he/she a US citizen? how old are you now?

what visa did you come with? do you have your I-94? you may be ineligible for an immigrant visa because you may have accumulated more than a year of illegal presence. I am not sure if you are eligible for AOS either, if you are not an immediate relative of a US citizen.

lucymo my mother is a green card holder and my age now is 24.
i am here illegaly since 1988.

did you enter legally?

as for your eligibility to adjust status if you did enter legally, see I-485A and a good lawyer.

Aliens in the United States who have an immigrant visa immediately available, but who entered the United States without inspection, remained in the United Statespast the period of admission, worked unlawfully, or are otherwise ineligible for adjustment of status under section 245(c) ofthe Act must submit this form along with Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

how did you enter? how did your mother adjust her status?

I think you might be eligible since your petition was filed prior to APril 30, 2001, and you were present in the US during that time (you need proof). Talk to a good lawyer.

my mother became a permanent resident because she was a field or farm worker. my mother brought us here illegally when i was about 4 years old along with my brother 7/8 months old.
and belive it or not i didn't know i was illegal until i was 16 and went to the dmv
