hi all i was have an interview in October 4 2010 in the dv2011 africa the interview was ok i was there at 730 after met the counsel she asked me where im going , who the person u know ,how many years he stays there what u work then she told me wait one moment she check something on computers after that she told me congratulation i agree to give u the visa in principle but there will be administrative work for 30 day but so my question dose ihave chance and why ihave the administrative work and dose she gave the administrative work to check the information about the person i told or for anther reason and dose they really take 30 days administrative work as she told me or not she take my passport and all other papers but dont pay the dhl last question when the administrative work end iwill pay the dhl or what plz tell me what is ur opinion

First of all I would like to congratulate u because u are given the visa. The CO said "congratulations and in principle u deserve the visa." This means she has given u the visa. The only thing remaining is the adminstrative processing (AP) issue, the reason for which no body knows except the CO. I smell one thing, though. The CO gave u a 30 days limit which makes your AP a minor issue expected to be settled soon. Most winners put under AP are never told when they will be called back. You will be called to hear about ur visa approval in a couple of weeks. It is when they call u that u will be ordered to pay for the DHL. Relax, the visa is yours. Good luck.

I am Asian DV applicant and share you the same experience. My interview was on Oct 2010 and the consul issued me a blue sheet of paper whereby "Your Case Need Further Admin. Process".
I don't know how long it may requiers.
I also send them an email and they replayed "Your Case Still Pending". I don't have enough time to write all the detail, but I will write here as soon as I get any news from them.

first thank u all about Ur replies secondly isend email as hohod say and they told my im still under the Administrative processing i check the embassy site every day and they said the same message every day i almost 8 week now and nothing new iwill call them Thursday if the any thing new iwill telling but im afraid ifeel what they said and plz if any one have any information please tell me
We were selected for Dv program. We flew to our interview in Moscow which which was on 10.09.2010. with our small babies. We had all documents they needed, absolutely no missing documents. Me and my wife have MBA in finance.
American consul looked at his computer and congratulated us saying that our visa has been approved. He said to leave our passports and DHL.We flew back home, but after 2 days Russian lady called us and said that our documents will be send to some administrative processing, which can takes 2 months or more.After I asked how about our passports? She replayed- "Oh do we have them?" I said Yes you do. Okay then she said we'll keep them." This is so strange, don't they understand that if we want to travel somewhere else we need our passports? Since then we never heard from them, and have no clue what is going on.Would anyone please suggest us what should we do in this kind of situation?

I think u were DV 2010 applicants , as u mentioned u faced the interview on 10th of September,2010. The cases of DV 2010 has been ended on September 30,2010. Either you have got the VISA or you have been refused, but decision has already been made. Didnt they contact you? Thats ridiculous!!!
I think, you should immediately contact with them. If you already got visa, take it. If u dont, take back your passports. DV 2010 cases has no scope to be pending till now.

My Case is almost like yours and I know how much you may suffer. But I think no need to worry. The Administration Process takes sometimes up to one year. The period depends on the embassy.
You didn't mention to which region you belong?
As I read in the website the AP sometimes happens when your name is like the name of someone they want. It maybe also happens when they want to make sure about your docs. especially for education and that happens to the DV applicants.
Did the consul give you some questions about the certificates you provided or just asked you about the person you know there. Because the consul usually ask some questions like what the subjects you studied ect..
As I read in the tranvel.State.gov website the AP takes from 10 to 60 working days:
Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case.
About my case there is no news and I wish to hear good news from you.

Your DV program year is 2010 or 2011? because I didn't understand the date of the interview which you've writen is 10.Sep.2010 OR 09.Oct.2010. The way of writing date different from place to place.
