Hello Everyone!!!

I recently got divorced to a US Citizen and then have my Maiden name back too after the divorce.
What name should I use to put in the "current legal name" field. Should I put my ex-husband's last name as it exactly appears in my Green Card or put my Maiden name?
Please I really need help because I am planning to apply for Citizenship soon.

And also, I did not change the name in my SS and Driver's License yet because inorder for them to change my name is that the name should match from the Green Card. I dont want to Change the name from my Green Card yet because like I said I just want to go ahead and apply for Citizenship. I don't want to pay double.
My current passport also is in my ex-husband's last name.

What should I do? Please Help!!!!!

Actually, if your divorce papers specifically include the restoration of your former name, it is the same as "name change petition". Just show that plus your greencard to Social Security and for a DL or just wait until you get a naturalization certificate (which you need to show to Social Security regarding change of status anyway).

Thank you, so do I have to put my ex-husband's last name as "Current Legal Name" which appeard in my Green Card and then "Change Name" with my former name?

What exactly (if anything) does your divorce decree say about your name change?

That my name shall be restored to my former name, that's what it said.

In that case your current legal name is your maiden name and you should put your maiden name in the "current legal name" field of your N-400. It does not matter that it does not match the name on you GC and your DL. You have a court order, as a part of your divorce decree, changing your legal name back to your maiden name and this court order will be sufficient for USCIS.

Again thank you, just making sure, if I use my current legal name to apply for N-400 and for examply I have the interview tomorrow and I go there. And then they will ask for ID and then I give my DL, won't they be wondering why is my name diffirent from my DL and my application form?

Of course they "will be wondering", but you'll show the IO your divorce decree and that will be sufficient proof of your legal name change. In fact, you should attach a copy of your divorce decree to your N-400 and maybe even mention in the cover letter that the divorce decree has changed your legal name back to your maiden name.
