Need EAD if H1B expires?

Hi

I have applied for EAD couple of months ago and my current H1B will be expiring soon. The reciept date on EAD will be more than 90 days before the H1B expires.

Do I need to have approved EAD to work when my H1B expires?

Do I need to get interim EAD if EAD is not approved before H1 expires?

Has anyone got interim EAD from Charlotte INS office recently especially after the new rule "No same day EAD and AP"?

Please advice.....

I had same questions. So one can continue to be in the country even after H1 expires but he cannot be on the payrolls of the company without EAD. Is that right ?
