Sorry to bother you gurus,

I am planning to apply for my Advance parole today because so many people are saying they got approval because AP or EAD may trigger 485 file.

Do you think it is good idea ? Share your thoughts.

Thanks is advance

Please check my signatures for details.

If you parole is expiring in < 3 months OR if you have not applied for parole, it is not a bad idea to apply. Why would one apply for AP if the same is set to expire in Aug. 2005

Ap Again......

Thanks MD & Good luck to you,
I applied AP one time then It is expire.....And I didn't apply again I thought I will get GC soon. But Now It is taking long time so I am planning to Apply again. I am applying after expiring AP is it OK ?

Applying for EAD / AP

I believe you can apply for renewal if your EAD / AP is going to expire within the next 6 months, not before that. Worst case scenario, you will lose your filing fees if your 485 gets approved (but I'm sure you would not mind that at all). Otherwise, you get a renewed EAD / AP (hopefully starting from the expiry of your current EAD / AP; some people on this forum have posted overlap of a few months, which is a waste...)

All the best!

Ap

This assumption is true when people get thier I-485 approval faster and USCIS inform them that their AP and EAD will not be processed beacuse they are going to come to descision about I-485 even before they approve the AP or EAD. Otherwise this is a futile excercise and waste of money untill unless you need it. This are just assumption not based on the fact. It took them to approve I-485 five months after my 3rd EAD and AP (I applied in due course of time for thier renewal), so I do not believe that if every one start applying EAD and AP unneccassarily will help them. This my experience and opinion, it is not necessary it can be true.

And, we've even seen a couple cases where people's EADs have been approved some time *after* the I-485 approval. I'd say that apart from possibly having to pull the I-485 case to verify it for the EAD / AP process, there's probably little truth to the theory that these can trigger the I-485 approval.

Gurus, can i apply AP2/EAD2 by myself without keeping my lawyer in the loop. I mean, if I file it by myself, do I need to file G-28 ? What are the implications?

sb_gc,

You can apply for EAD/AP yourself. You do not need to file any G-28 for that. I have done it twice for EAD2/AP2 and EAD3/AP3 for self, spouse and kid without going through my lawyer.

All depends on how do you look at 200 $ :D Some people spend it over the weekend in nightclub and some may buy a 3 GHz. CPU to upgrade the computer. same may not spend that at all and will log on 100 times to check the same in savings account

Few months back FP notices were coinciding with AP / EAD renewal apps in few service centers. I don’t mind putting down 200 $ assuming I lost that in Atlantic City Casino.

I have bigger problem however. My h1 is set to expire on Jan 1st week and I am thinking if I should apply for H1 extension ( that is equivalent to buying a new computer )

Applied Advance Parole.......

Just now I applied for renewal Advance Parole.......

Lets hope god will create trigger to my pending 485 and Approve.

Good luck to everyone and Thanks for quick reply.

My EAD was expiring in April, 2005. My company wanted me to file before Jan. My EAD got approved today (within a week of applying) but no LUD changes for the I-485 app

I think ead and advance parole are approved by non experienced adjucator. i read it somewhere. probably during mr. khanna deposition of uscis authorities. again i don't guarantee of any coin-incident.

Md_Rockville,
Well said. There are soo many people who are sooooo stingy to even spend $300 for EAD/AP and later get into big trouble and post HELP messages. I feel sooo sorry for these guys
