Hey all first time posting sorry I am not to keen on the correct wording.

Anyways, I have just recently received my approval for my I-130 and now i need to terminate my ongoing deportation case. I know that i need to have this taken care of before I file my I-485 petition.

My other problem is my work authorization is about to expire and I have heard there could be problems filing the two petitions together. Thank you for any advice.

Are you eligible to file for adjustment? Will you file it with the IJ? The IJ has current jurisdiction over your case. Have you got an attorney? What is the reason for being in proceedings in the first place? Will you need a waiver to get adjustment approved?

The reason for the proceedings is because my asulym ran out..i believe i am eligible for adjustment my attorney told me i have to dissmiss this case first. I guess i was really asking if there is way to file a motion to dissmiss the case without working with an attorney.

Again im sorry for my little to no knowledge about this stuff, but i dont know what IJ stands for..thanks for any input

What do you mean that your asylum ran out? That makes no sense. Asylum can be terminated. TPS can expire or be withdrawn. A period of admission can come to an end (reaching the date of expiration on the I-94). You can fall out of status due to expiration of a stay/extension. An extension orr change of nonimmigrant status can be denied. A student can drop out or flunk out. A nonimmigrant can lose a job.

Did you file for asylum with USCIS or after going before an Immigration Judge (IJ) in Immigration Court? What have you actually filed yet? Did you enter the U.S. with a visa? What kind? Did you get served with a Notice to Appear (NTA)? Are you just a visa overstay or do you have a criminal conviction or did you enter illegally (EWI) [Entry Without Inspection]? Who filed an I-130 for you? Is it based on amarriage to a USC? If yes, did you get married after being placed in proceedings? Give details.

I withdrew my asulym case because I got married to a USC. From my understanding all i need to fill out now is the I-485 and the affadivit of support to go with it. Also I did get married after being in proceedings

How come? Be clear and you can get help.Don't get us confused.

I withdrew it because it expired and that is the whole reason I am in the hearings. The marriage thing just happened it was my hs girl and she wanted to get married. All Im really asking is if there is a way to file a motion to terminate the court case with out a lawyer.

You have left out too many BASIC details. How did you enter the U.S.? If you entered illegally, you most likely cannot adjust even as a spouse of a USC. Provide details if you want correct information.

I entered the country due to medical reasons, I had leukemia from living about 20 miles from Chernobyl and my mother wrote lettrs to Gorbachev and eventually he granted my political asulym. My mother recently was granted her GC, I hope that will help me if the marriage doesnt.

A person granted asylum can file for a greencard based on that after one year. You did not file an I-485 along with mom? That's odd, why not?

You are presenting a very strange case. You are doing it in a very piecemeal way. I'm getting tired of trying to ask you for the same basic details over and over again.

If you want further help, provide a complete detailed history.

Good Luck,
